I too am confused why this isn’t rated higher. Son and I were greeted and seated immediately even though a line was forming outside (move in at at Cornell). Son ordered pork bento box and I ordered the soba noodles with beef. We also ordered appetizer. Food was delivered timely, prepared perfectly and with wonderful flavors. Top place to dine.
We plan to return later this week! About the experience: We dined at this quaint local restaurant with classic Spanish decor rich in Spanish traditions. The staff were two lovely men with exquisite class who greeted to Americans with open arms. While I am of Spanish heritage and speak Spanish my wife speaks English. Yet the staff made us feel at home. Next to food, the dining experience makes an already delightful meal even that much more an unforgettable experience.
About the food: the offerings are varied, plentiful but not overwhelming. You can have starters, appetizers then move on to more heavy plate and finally your main dish, although you do not have to eat from every option. We shared the stuffed pimientos. These are not you normal stuff peppers. They are small variety pepper and I suspect they peel the skin because the peppers melted like butter in my mouth. They were stuffed with salmon. The flavor came from a pure vegetable puree that was infused with cognac and other spices. I almost didn’t share with my wife but she had a knife in hand. My wife ordered the sea bass which is half fish on its back (literal translation). Fish was tender and flavorful. I ordered the lamb chops which were seasoned and grilled perfectly to maintain moisture and tenderness and were accompanied with French fries. Dessert was the flan that was smooth as silk. Finished with a grappa variation aperitif (Baileys) and of course white and red wine. We ate like Royal family for such a value price. We love it and will be back this week and later this month.
