The Burke-Gilman and Sammamish River Trails are fantastic for walking, biking, or running - and Bothell Landing is one of the best spots to access them. The Burke-Gilman Trail stretches about 20 miles from Bothell to Seattle’s Golden Gardens Park, while the Sammamish River Trail extends for 10.9 miles, connecting Bothell to Marymoor Park in Redmond.

Both trails are well-maintained, with smooth, paved paths that wind through scenic areas along the river, offering a mix of lush greenery, open views, and peaceful waterway vistas. If you’re biking, early morning or late afternoon on weekdays is the best time to go—weekends can get busy with families, joggers, and fellow cyclists, though it never feels overcrowded.

From the trail, there’s easy access to a variety of great spots in Bothell. You can stop for coffee at nearby Sidekick Coffee in Woodinville or grab a pint at McMenamins Anderson School in Bothell, just a short detour away. There are several breweries in the area like Beardslee Public House and Watts Brewing, as well as a few along the trail, making it a perfect destination for a mid-ride refreshment.

The trail is very safe, well-patrolled, and mostly flat, making it suitable for all ages and fitness levels. You’ll see a friendly mix of families, cyclists, dog walkers, and runners out enjoying the day. If you're looking for a scenic, versatile trail with plenty of access to local amenities, this is definitely a go-to spot!
Gold Dogs

If you love country & western wear, or Nashville honky tonk style, then you’d love Gold Dogs in Ballard… They have a LOT of vintage cowboy boots for men and women, as well as clothes, cowboy hats, lariat ties, jewelry, western belt buckles, and flannel shirts for days.

If you’re going to a country music concert or outdoor music festival, you can probably find a great outfit here!
The Burke Museum is amazing. We went on a family trip here… with teens… and we all had a great time. 3 levels with lots of artifacts to look at - make sure you read the display placards, they are full of interesting stories and make the experience richer!

There are glass window science labs you can peek into and see scientists doing actual work… Dinosaurs and Paleontologists are on the top floor! 🦖

Plenty of (paid) parking in the lot next to the museum. We went on a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded - we also bought our tickets online. I’d give yourself a few hours to look at everything. We spent 3 hours.

PS. The first floor has a coffee shop/cafe called “Off The Rez” which has good food & coffee. Grab lunch there!
Pike Street Coffee

Pike Street Coffee has good coffee & specialty espresso drinks. The gingerbread latte and the orange mocha were delicious! The cafe also has a retail section with letterpress cards, stickers, coffee beans & accessories, and other small gifts.

Delicious Greek food on Diversadero in San Francisco. They make AMAZING roasted chicken, which you can see them cooking on a rotisserie inside. We had chicken, the juicy (lemon & herb) roasted potatoes, and a salad - it was so good we gobbled it up & forgot to take pictures! 😂 For dessert, we had frozen, soft serve Greek yogurt with baclava and honey… mmmmmmmm. It was so good.

The interior seating area isn’t huge but there is additional outside seating in the back patio. You can pick up to-go orders at an outside window, which is handy.

We enjoyed eating here & I’d definitely recommend it! 👍👍
