Firstly I have been here before and had great experiences. On Friday I ordered a glass of the chardonay from the 5 or so options listed on the menu, when I went to pay I noticed they were charging $16, so I nicely pointed out the board lists the price as $12. The bartender took the bill and looked at it and he said “oh I gave you the more expenive wine” he then grabs the glass out of my hand as i am LITERALLY drinking it! He makes a point to pour it down the drain (the drink I have already been drinking…which was his mistake) and refill my glass with the $12 wine. I was so in shock I did not know how to react. I felt violated.
When I look at my credit card charge later I noticed he added an ADDITIONAL 25% tip on the original charge. I have lived in NYC a long time and am patient with bartenders, but this was the worst experiece I have had with one in NY and I will never ever return to this place, and I highly recommend you don’t either.
Calling it now…this place will have its doors shut within the next year. Say hello to The Never Room

My favorite part about this cafe is its location. It is uniquely situated on the park in Stuytown which makes for a great and green atmosphere. It is also huge compared to most cafes in NYC which helps make it feel like you almost have the place to yourself some days.
You would also probably never come here unless you lived in or were visiting Stuytown which is kind of sad.
As for food and coffee, I didn’t think it was anything special but you won’t be spitting it out by any means! Coffee was definitely a step above Starbucks level but I didn’t walk away extremely impressed.
Staff are friendly as far as I have seen. There isn’t really service here you just pick up from the counter and choose a seat.
Again, this cafe is a relaxing spot to work or unwind and that’s why I would come here! Never huge crowds and the views are always great.

This park is hidden in/next to Battery Park and is one of the nicest spots in the whole city. It’s incredibly well maintained, with amazing views, and is rarely crowded. At night, it’s especially beautiful and well lit. A total gem.
Also, being next to Battery Park and the pier there are tons of opportunities to explore after checking this spot out. You can see some awesome Yachts in the marina as well as eat/drink.
This park has a unique viewing platform I think is awesome as well. Recommend walking up there and taking it in or sitting at the waterfront benches.
It’s also incredibly safe here which is always important.
