We've lived around the corner for 12 years but visited the farm for the first time today with our 6 and 8 Yr Olds. We've never been because of the astronomical entry fees but today they had a special on £5 pp which was worth every penny. They have a wide variety of healthy looking animals and the staff were all brilliant and so friendly.
The food is very pricey which is expected luckily I always pack a picnic. The hot chocolate was £4.50 making 2 almost as much as the entry fee 😳 (and only 1 average sized marshmallow?, should include a handful for that price with a cookie too 😜).
The playground is very dated and basic, Stamford park has much better equipment and is free entry.
I would suggest adding some coin operated mini diggers and I didn't see any go carts? - that would add more value.
Unfortunately the tractor ride was not open possibly due to the ground being frosty so I can't comment on that.
I saw the donut stand but unfortunately didn't see ice cream being sold?
It's a small compact farm so I wouldn't say we'd be back soon as we saw it all (and ate) within 3 hours and we were lucky with the reptile and cuddle corner queues.
Last thought: The exit via the gift shop ploy would be best left to tourist attraction venues not a petting farm.
