Really lovely and welcoming atmosphere here. With beautiful tapestries and stonework, although do not sit near the door, especially in the cold weather, as so many people left it wide open or didn't quite close it. I ordered a salmon pasta dish with ricotta, which was beautiful and fresh with fabulous flavours. My partner ordered the popular dish of the area, aka a cassoulet although aesthetically, it looked fabulous it was not as flavoursome. Lovely welcoming host though and fair prices.
Wow this was such a vast and impressive collection. There so much to see here and ideal to visit during a drizzly day.
There are items from bronze ages, Egyptian etc I would definitely recommend putting half a day aside for this.
We came on a weekday so didn't have to queue to get in etc I imagine it gets super busy the weekend so would recommend purchasing online in those instances.

It was an ideal place to spend time on the last day, lots of lockers, clean bathrooms and taxidermy were very well presented as were some of the other exhibits. However, it wasn't clear what buildings you could go in as a lot looked shut up tight and private if it weren't for me seeing other people go through I would not have attempted to enter.
This is in a handy location, and all staff are lovely that work here but could do with a face lift, which I appreciate is difficult due to the age of the building. There are limited toilets, and the seating is very uncomfortable, especially after a 4 hour play . Perhaps reupholstered these with more padded comfort as the back support is very rigid and hard, so expect back ache.
