wonderful ambiance, very friendly staff and sooooo… tasty food! as a groupe we ordered the complete mezze plates, warm and cold. every single plate was tasty. my personal favorite: best falafel l ever ate. thanks a lot, we spent a nice evening.
we visited the museum during the week, about 4 month after the inauguration. the entrance was free. the building is interesting and you will have a spectacular view on the stadion- and meskelsquare-district. the skyline of addis abeba is impressive! unfortunately most of the exhibitions stands were closed. l’d rather call it a exhibition than a museum. but nevertheless the place is worth a visit. and it’s an important platform for young science- and technology-companies. the planetarium only opens for groups. it must be very impressive. make sure that it’s open before you go there.

a little bit hidden, in the steinenbachgässlein, but close to barfüsserplatz you will discover the best anatolian restaurant in basel. the mediterranean-oriental atmosphere and the tasty food will take you on a wonderful journey. the owners are very friendly and run the restaurant since more than 30 years! we allways feel very welcome there. … it’s highly recommended to reserve a place, if you plan to sit at the slightly enhanced table, beautifully decorated with kelims/kilims (tapestry carpets).

we visited the museum already some years ago and they have some pretty interesting exhibits, first of all the fossilized bones of „lucy“ / dinkinesh (displayed is the replica, the skeleton is preserved in the museum’s stash). shortly the section about the ethiopian antiquity was renewed and shines in new brightness. it tells the story of the aksumite kingdom up to the spreading of christianity and islam in medieval times (kingdoms and sultanates).
