Super friendly staff. Fun pottery to paint for kids and adults. Items change out based on season. Week turn around for your items to be ready. They do not take reservations but they will put you on a wait-list if they're full, and give you about 10ish minutes to return. There's a toy store and restaurants nearby if you have to wait.
I feel the high stars are for people who have gone to an event. This museum gives a lot of impressive history of Baltimore. I didn't realize so many well-known items were first made in Baltimore. However, I brought my 9 and 11 year old and they were bored. I wish there were more hands on items because there are a lot of possibilities to do so with the current displays. They found the most fun being in the car in the automobile area. There's a lot of reading. They do have these audio devices, that were free, where you can scan an RFID to listen to some extra info apart from the signage.

The museum itself is on the small size. We didn't stand and read everything, but we didn't zip through either. I felt it took us, at most, 1.5 hours.

great playground for older kids. Just be careful of the zip line and walkinging in front of it. Next to a sand volleyball court.
