This place is fairly new and fantastic!!! The playground, exercise area, paved paths, sports fields/courts and public restrooms are everything you could ever want in a park. We were there for the first time (in the rain no less) and had a wonderful time. The kids brought their scooters... It was perfect!
Great place for nature walks. The trails are well maintained, not too muddy, and full of wildflowers (at least in September). We did a little fishing, caught a blue gill and a catfish. The pond is small and mostly in direct sun, but still nice. And we did the scavenger hunt, provided near the parking lot, which my 3-year-old loved. We will definitely be back here in the future.
Great park for children of all ages. The only detractor is that did not have any swings. The covered pavilion at the picnic tables was great. being right next to the fire station is another plus. It is likely the kids will get a chance to see one of the fire engines, ladder truck, or ambulances. Plus, if any of the kids get hurt there are EMTs right next door. :)
Great splash pad for kids! It felt much safer than most of the splash pads we go to, but there was still one section of road that was a little too accessible for my liking. I don't understand why VA doesn't gate in their splash pads like other States do.
