Beautiful grounds, Little Sarasota bay views and historic sites of aboriginal people, and later 19th century settlers are highlights. The free Ninety minute tour was very interesting - many human interest stories and archeological knowledge was shared by our guides. Boatbuilding demo, viaduct restoration, 19th century gardens, butterfly house, restored home/Hotel, and archeological dig display all make for a satisfying experience.

Cafe managed by Michaels has delicious hot food and drink selections.

This botanical treasure is a feather in the Selby cap. Relaxing in nature makes for a serene visit.

Don’t miss the turnoff from Tamiami in Osprey as signs are not obvious - if you are driving fast you may need to turn around and go back.

If you have a botanical garden membership in your possession, check with the ticket office as you may be able to use reciprocity privileges for free admission!

Restrooms well cared for. Lots of shade. If you get too hot, a volunteer will pick you up to ride in golf cart .
Wonder land of water, recreation, and sporting. And the views are fantastic. If you happen to nab a kayak, paddle to the close by mangrove adventureland. There are Play structures, pickle, ball, courts, basketball, court, kayak, rental, clean restrooms, docks, over the water, green space, lots of good parking. Also educational opportunities through the large strategic postings. A great place to spend a relaxing morning, or evening, not a lot of walking space, but you’ll be rewarded with fantastic bay views.

Sarasota garden club’s yearly tour of local Sarasota private gardens was well organized and well attended. 8 spots and we hit 5 of them before succumbing to 85 degree heat and going back to our cool 77 on the island.
