Well stocked, including vegetables, a wide selection of hair products, hardware items and great baked goods. Customer service is not great: the attendants ignore customers and don't even greet pleasantly. However, they seem to be overly friendly to customers they know personally or well. Please acknowledge and appreciate ALL customers: not just friends or the regulars. Located on a busy corner, it is very tricky and inconvenient to get in and out of this location. Nonetheless, they have their loyal followers, and there is always a steady flow of customers reversing out and congesting traffic. Hours should be extended.
The customer service here is simply atrocious-- customer service at its worse. The lines are perenially long, all year long. The shopping baskets are filthy. You shop to the sound of bawdy dancehall music.. The cashiers are rude and incompetent. They always seem to be encountering problems at the cash registers during and after each transaction. They are constantly closing off the registers to get cash, count cash, exchange cash, or waiting several minutes for the registers to warm up, cool down, crank up, oil up, grease down, or rebooth. The cashiers are unapologetic for the long wait in lines, and do not even acknowledge customers or return a salutation. The store is usually well stocked but untidy, dingy and disorganized, especially the vegetables and refrigerators. Many items are displayed without price, or displayed with the wrong price. When customers are misled into purchasing an item at the wrong price, the staff gets angry when a refund is requested. If you ask for assistance to locate an item, an employee lazily points to an aisle in the distance and fails to help locate the item. This store needs to be updated, revamped and modernized. The staff (from management to security) needs to be properly trained to serve customers pleasantly, professionally and efficiently. After all, this is a major grocery food in the heart of town...do better than that Huggins!

I go here mainly for nostalgic reasons as it evokes warm memories of my childhood. I recall the anticipation of getting a pack of corn curls as a treat each time I came here as a child. The smell, the atmosphere, the sounds of the cash registers pleasantly take me back to then, when life was mellow. Well stocked shelves, good customer service, and a very congested parking lot. Nonetheless, it is a happy, bustling place to shop, browse, drop in quickly for something you need, forgot, or cant find elsewhere: or just to grab a pack of corn curls and some happy childhood memories to go.
