An extraordinary museum. Carefully curated and set in a stunning building. The galleries mix art from the Native Peoples with a profound telling of the relationship between the United States and the Native Nations. While I knew the general shape of the story, seeing the details of the treaties and how they were repeatedly broken is a deeply moving experience. To see the explicit policy of extermination of the native people undertaken by the first governor of California is shocking. This museum is a must-visit when you are in Washington.
Reagan Washington is a fun airport - how often can you say that? The terminal architecture is a pleasant throwback and feels like a Cathedral. Security lines were short and efficient. The air-side facilities aren't as extensive or varied as you get at a large hub, but they're fine. Overall a great experience.
Delicious middle eastern food with a modern twist. We had brunch sat outdoors and it was very good. They've done a nice job of the outdoor seating. Service was a little slow, but the servers were friendly and helpful.
An okay Mediterranean fast food place. They serve a variety of plates and wraps. The food is good but not great. Houyvet plenty for your money, and it's tasty, but you can get better. The place is a little messy, but fine to sit in though it's mostly takeout.
A fantastic planetarium. We've always seen great shows here. Today's was breathtaking, a tour of the planets of the solar system with excellent graphics and real science. Comfortable seats and friendly staff
The only downside is poor signage to the entrance - if you end up at the other entrance on floor 2 there are no signs directing you to the right place. Make sure you go to floor 3.
