Book Hill Park

Tiny little park behind the library. More of a staircase to be honest. If you're out for a run, it's a great leg-burner. The terraced slopes are tidy, mainly arboreal, and well kept.
Small park servicing the local community. Playframe. Only issue is the road that splits the park in two which makes you wary when kids are playing.

Great park in Chevy Chase. Playground has a good sized climbing frame with four slides. Separate area with the older equipment. Down the hill is a large soccer / baseball field. Basketball court, well paved walkways. It's an expansive area where you can find solitude or go for a run that involves gradients. Plenty of parking.
Love this place. Has a great 2km walk that can be either on a paved path or you can wander the forest trail along the river. It also looks so different with the seasonal changes. There are deer, lots of birds and squirrels. It runs parallel to the main trail which is busier with runners and cycles.
If you want a quieter walk in nature and the ability to interact with the waterway all the way down then take this slight detour.

August 2021....tired looking mall. It's planning a major face-lift and needs it.
August 2022....quick update. It's been torn down and a major rebuild of area is underway.
August 2023....still rebuilding though the traffic works and new mall promise to be a major face-lift for the area.
January 2024...the new Westbard Mall is open. Looks nice. Area still being developed.
