Pretty run down in many areas but adequate as long as you do not need any restroom facilities. The park is fenced in along most areas of green space that are right along busy Auburn boulevard. Near the baseball diamond (which is in rough shape), you will find the jungle gym and playground equipment. I would reconsider taking children here with any breathing problems during peak traffic times as the exhaust from cars slowly passing by could possibly be problematic for sensitive ones who struggle getting their lungs filled with air. The parking lot that is accessible is very small; the larger parking lot is in really bad shape and is no longer made accessible to visitors of the park.
I did notice that this parking lot does have a very high amount of cruising that goes on both in the parking lot and also off of the trails between the parking lot and creek. Cruising seems to occur at all the morning, afternoon, and early evening hours that the park is open. People seem to be respectful of each other here whether they are cruising as well, so I say good for them for having some fun!

Set in a very peaceful neighborhood this is a very large Park excellent for children to play in large green spaces. There is a baseball diamond and soccer field. This park would have gotten a five-star review except for the current remodeling that's going on which makes much of it unusable but it will be very nice once the remodel is complete and would deserve a five-star rating. It is currently having the playground remodeled and is set to open in Spring of 2023 there are walking trails a dog station and exercise station. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. The picnic tables with built-in backgammon tables were a nice touch.
When you start to get back into the park, fair warning: the roads do have an impressive collection of potholes.
Once you get around those, you will be back into one of the four parking areas they currently have accessible. 2 of the parking areas have actual bathrooms the smaller 3rd one has porta potties and the 4th area is a nice smaller barbque picnic area but with no facilities.
This park does have some access to the river. No matter where you end up back there, you will be close by to a picnic area.
Bathrooms are kept in fantastic shape, especially with the amount of use they get.
The Park Rangers do patrol the parking areas intermittently.
You'll also find that there are a multitude of bicycle paths, both paved and unpaved, and there is also no shortage of walking trails to further explore this sprawling park! Wildlife will be easy to spot, and you would have to try very hard not to see many wild turkey while exploring. A small group of deer seen to be permanent fixtures with other deer coming thru quite often as well. I've seen a couple of coyotes and many different bird species. Squirrels are busily working their way up and down trees, and occasionally, you'll see some little creatures pop up out of the numerous holes in the ground... CAUTION: these holes can be plentiful in the picnic areas near the largest parking lot. This is especially true in the grass area between the parking lot and the bathrooms, so watch your step! There have also been numerous sightings of mountain lions recently, all the way down here in this park, which is on the edge of Rancho Cordova. You will want to keep yourself alert at those dawn and dusk hours, especially.
This park is kept very clean with the grounds all maintained nicely. To help do your part, there are plenty of trash cans available no matter where you are located in the park to dispose of your trash.
They have recently opened the overflow Parking Lot, which is located near the spot where the bike trail crosses over the road used by vehicles venturing back into park.

LARGE park, with lots of space for jogging and bicycling, yet not as much playground equipment as you'd think, in my opinion. Lots of the park borders the water on one side. Marina access and boat launch are here also. Fishing is allowed from many areas in the park. Public restrooms are available during the day. Very clean park with very little trash to speak of.
They do a nice job caring for the homeless in the area by a group that gives them a controlled environment to be safe day and night as well as some shelter. This was awesome to see and does not affect park visitors at all. I thought it was a great idea and was glad to see assistance for the homeless.
I was surprised by the volume of "cruising" happening here, especially on weekends. From what I saw, those that participate don't seem to affect anyone adversely that I could see so I say "good on you!" if that's what you like! There is something for everyone here at Miller Park!
