A scenic location along riverfront. Lots of restaurants from ordering from a window and sitting outside, to some nicer restaurants with seafood and views of the river.
Many many touristy shops, but some of them have some pretty cool and unique items. Maybe buy an ice cream or have some coffee and a baked treat and sit on the street side tables. There are also River tours and a beautiful old paddle wheel boat that has been converted into a nice restaurant and bar. You can also walk across the tower bridge to the other side of where there is a park between the river and some beautiful tall buildings. Including a giant pyramid! You can also rent an electric scooter and cruise around and explore both sides of the river. And the railroad museum is awesome!

I have been to this park before, but I went on this day because I wanted to document the salmon habitat restoration. I usually try to take more beautiful and artistic photos, and although I did get a couple of pretty good ones, these photos are just for me and others to remember the way it was as we look back someday to this beautiful area!
I have often walked by the point where Cordova Creek dumps into the American River on Rossmoor Bar, but I never walked up the creek. It's kind of a long narrow wetland area. And on the other side of the trail is a protected area for an endangered beetle. It's not all that beautiful, but I'm glad I checked it out!
The most important thing to know about Ambassador Park is there is no park. There is a parking lot and there is a path to what used to be a grassy park with a park bench, but it has been allowed to go back to nature. There are no facilities of any kind and it is a small area. That being said, the surrounding trails are beautiful.
