Gelateria La Romana
2024 May 20
As a huge La Romana fan who has visited over seven locations in Italy, this was by far the worst experience. While the gelato's texture maintained the same silky, creamy goodness, that's about the only positive aspect.

The queue was very long due to the inefficiency of the staff. Surprisingly, two-thirds of the flavors were vegan. While vegan options are appreciated, the classical characteristics of gelato were lost, as the vegan flavors fell short. The cioccolato fondente was even a bit grainy. Furthermore, from the limited selection of six non-vegan flavors, three had already run out. This is unacceptable for a gelateria, especially considering there were still five hours left until closing time. Plus, how is it possible to run out of your signature flavour Crema 1947?!

Overall, it was a huge disappointment. It’s better to stick to La Romana locations in Italy.

The ice cream here is good compared to German standards. It was creamy and smooth, with genuine flavors. The matcha had an earthy taste, and the pistachio was subtle but not artificial. At 4€ for a small cone, it's rather pricey, but at least the portion is decent. The servers, however, are not particularly friendly.

Nestled in Charlottenburg, this cozy Chilean restaurant offers a delightful culinary journey. The daily suggestions, alongside the standard menu, provide ample choices for any diner.

The warm, complimentary homemade pumpkin bread, paired with onion and cilantro salsa, sets the tone for a delicious dining experience. The signature Pisco sour cocktail is a refreshing delight.

The highlight of the meal was the heavenly tuna steak, perfectly cooked and complemented by a zesty herb salsa atop beluga lentils and vegetables, accompanied by a rich prawns bisque. The lucuma ice cream, a Chilean specialty, is a must-try with its unique blend of caramel, mango, and vanilla flavors.

While the empanada filling was flavorful, the dough was quite dry. The ceviche provided a lovely blend of freshness and spice, although the fish could have been more tender. The addition of a cold lemon and mint sorbet added an innovative touch to the dish.

The service was top-notch, professional, and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the dining experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a delicious taste of Chilean cuisine in Charlottenburg.

Chic restaurant in the heart of Brussels at the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries. The place was bustling, and we were lucky enough to snag the last table. Making a reservation is highly recommended, as we witnessed many being turned away.

The food was outstanding! The grey shrimp croquettes were crispy and warm, the mussels were plump and juicy in a delicious broth, and the beef carbonnade melted in the mouth with tenderness and was engulfed in a rich, tasty gravy. While not cheap, the quality and exceptional taste of the food justified the price.

However, the service fell short: they forgot to bring serviettes, wet wipes for the mussels, and even bread upon request. Overall, the evening felt a bit rushed and hectic, as if they were eager to turn tables quickly.

Fresh, vibrant and tasty Lebanese food! The baba ganoush was especially delicious as it hit the right smokey note that contrasted perfectly with the tart pop of the pomegranate. The falafel were also great: freshly made on the spot, crunchy and hot.

Whilst the service was quick and efficient, they were neither very friendly nor helpful. Rather, we felt a bit rushed to order and seat. A pity, as the food was good.
