Amazing, amazing, amazing! Whatever can be written about it will be small compared to the greatness of this place. We visited it in the afternoon at the beginning of May and it was very peaceful - there were parking spaces and it was peaceful in the monasteries themselves.
I am visiting it for the second time and for the second time I am impressed by the Palatine Chapel. One of the most impressive churches I have ever seen. We visited it at the end of December, there were not many tourists and we were able to enjoy the beauty of the mosaics and ceilings. The building is a mixture of Byzantine, Norman and Fatimid architectural styles, showing the tricultural state of Sicily in the 12th century. It took eight years to build, with the mosaics only partially completed by 1143. The sanctuary, dedicated to Saint Peter, resembles a domed basilica. It has three apses, as was common in Byzantine architecture, with six pointed arches (three on each side of the central nave) resting on recycled classical columns. The vaulted ceiling of the nave and the rectilinear shape of the chapel are impressive. The mosaics are fascinating with their brilliance and uniqueness. Unique!
A wonderful museum. It is not big and you can enjoy every picture from the work of many notable artists. There are remarkable masterpieces. The museum, which is a former monastery, also has many gardens, which makes it very pleasant with alternating paintings and gardens. The painting of the crucifixion in the hall with the ceiling from an old church is also incredible. Impressive. The guards in the halls make an unpleasant impression. Most of them are women, they gather in groups and do not stop talking among themselves in a loud voice. Typical Spanish. The museum is free for EU citizens.

This place proves that nature is the greatest artist. There are also things made by people, but they fit so well into the landscape that they are not annoying. If you go early in the morning it is very peaceful and you can enjoy the scenery in peace.
Cozy square - not small, but not pretentious or pretentious. Just like Ravenna herself. We visited at the end of May on a Sunday afternoon and it was so nice and peaceful that we couldn't help but like it. Be sure to set aside half an hour, sit down at one of the restaurants, order a coffee and enjoy Italy.
