If you're a current day hiker like myself, this is a very hard-to-miss parking area. Blink and you'll go by it. You have to turn as soon as you see a small green square with hikers on it. I went by it on the first attempt and turned around in The Forks.

As for the trail itself, the segment I did (from 201 to Pleasant Pond parking lot and back) is easy relatively speaking. The only problem this time of year is MUD. My new nickname for this section is the Muddy Mile.

Small but mighty! My two favorite cuisines under one roof makes for an epic decision on which one to eat when I come 🤣. Japanese.....or Thai 😋 Today I did the latter. Pad Thai with shrimp 👌👌

Also, those spicy dumplings with peanut sauce............OUTSTANDING!

I've been here before, but I guess I hadn't reviewed it yet 😅😂

The BLT trails are my favorite, and most expansive, for the Bangor area.

......Except when I came within a few tenths of a mile of a black bear on the rail bed separating the lesser known trails a few weeks ago 🐻 That was a first for me and slightly scary. Especially when I had been the only person for 2 or 3 miles.

In other news though, right now the trails need some TLC (especially the preserves outside the Bangor City Forest). If you know someone who lives in the area and is willing to volunteer, do what I did and have them submit a volunteer form. 👍👍

Update: As of writing this post last month, I still haven't heard from anyone from the BLT in regards to my volunteer form 🫤. I tried calling them and leaving a message, but have been unsuccessful still.

Came here with a friend via the advice of a random stranger on the street.

Overall, it was a decent place. Nothing that blew me away per say. I'm not a Mexican food fan, but today was about the randomness of the adventure, rather than favorite foods.
I usually love hiking, but today was the first time I'd honestly say I'll never go back to these particular trails for a long time.

I'd rather go get lost in fog on top of 5700 foot Mt. Adams again. What an underwhelming set of trails! There are technically two trailhead parking areas on this road, but I'd only consider one of them (the northern one) even remotely decent. I ended up walking the road back because of the cluster f of mis and improperly unmarked trails.

The bugs were horrendous too, but that's to be expected living in Maine so that I can forgive.
