Tipsy Scoop
2023 May 14
I've been meaning to come here for years so it was definitely an exciting experience to have something from here! I decided on the strawberry sangria sorbet and it was great! Smooth and could taste the sangria. The associate was super nice and vibes well, despite the long line. It was definitely worth it. Excited to come back and try the sundae one day! They also have non boozy ice cream as well and serve birthday cakes.
Waffle House
2022 Dec 08
The MOMENT we stepped inside their establishment, we were greeted!
Edit:
I heard good things about Waffle House, so this was my first experience ever. Coming from the Northeast, we definitely don't have these anywhere. (understandably so as there are many mom and pop diners here)
We had arrived at 8:48pm; Our first stop after my 4 hour bus ride here. I didn't know they were 24 hours, so, when the staff indicated we can either wait a several minutes for dine in or order take away, i decided to take that opportunity to freshen up from the travels. The next shift that arrived had gotten there RIGHT before a rain storm (as any associates that were there post 9p were caught in it). Our server was Amber, and she was super nice!
I enjoyed their hash brown bowl and good Lord Almighty was it tasty! Roughly a week later and I'm still thinking of it, haha. We were served their dark roast (yum!).
Overall, if we stood here longer, we probably would've been back several times more haha. Also, i would like to point out Ambers hand writing. It's gorgeous and by far the best I've seen! So neat and concise. Truly a skill that could be capitalized on :)
Oasis Day Spa
2022 Sep 17
Oasis Day Spa-an unexpected delightful experience in the Big Apple. It's truly an underground Oasis. From first entering through the side of the main street, I immediately felt calmer. This is my first experience in a spa like this. Albeit super shy, the experience was wonderful. Front desk associates were super polite. After check in, you'll be taken to the locker room area in which you'll strip down into your birthday suit. They provide a nice robe and slippers of your size. (Although, they do have a size limit for the larger feet) the main collaborative area with other clients is tranquil. Provided were lemon or cucumber water. Small snacks such as banana chips and mixed nuts were also self serve. For some calm, there's chamomile tea and more. My masseuse, Kenny, walked me through to our room. The cute part along walking the halls were the little sachets of lavender, which were indicators for rooms occupied. I had gotten the deep tissue massage. Boy, did he introduce me to new knots i didn't know i had! Haha 🤣 he was very respectful and knowledgeable on his craft as he took time on certain areas in which i had injuries (which he didn't know about before hand. Example-knee) with the full body massage, you may request certain areas to be focused on alongside. He also told me beforehand if there were certain areas that i would prefer he not go to, i to tell him. Which was a great consideration! After the massage, which, was wow, i went back to the main area to rest a bit. In the women's locker room was a small sauna. The recommended time is 30 minutes, with instructions provided on the outside. Overall, i spent 2.5 hours here. Enjoying the ambiance alongside looking at their store which had items such as: creams, serums, candles and more. I'll be back soon :) 10/10 recommend.
