I'm updating my original comment from 53 days ago as nothing has changed. It has been 6 months and the generator is still there. Still extremely loud. Still cannot open my windows. Soot from generator has entered into my apartment from across the street. I've attached a photo of what my window sill looks like right now - I'm breathing this in!

The other day I saw an ambulance stalled for minutes because it couldn't get passed the generator. Yesterday there was a street festival for kids with bouncy castles and food, yet the whole street smells like generator exhaust. This building has no shame.

This whole situation is entirely unacceptable.

Original comment from March 2022:
Absolutely ridiculous. This building is causing extreme noise from a diesel generator that has been parked outside the front disrupting the lives of thousands of people in the neighborhood for many months. If you live within a certain radius of the building, you can’t even open your windows from the disgusting exhaust and pollution. For context: The building had a fire in October 2021…it is now March 2022 and the LOUD generator providing power for the entire building runs 24/7 from outside directly in front of the building.

It is a constant headache that doesn’t stop - affecting sleep, work and home life. The apparent ignorance and disdain the building ownership and management has for the residents of not only their building but for anyone that lives remotely close to this building is mind-boggling.

Before the building leaves an auto-generated response with a phone number to discuss, I have an even better idea: be transparent about when the problem will be fixed and the generator will be gone.
