Mt. Hollywood Trail, which begins at this trailhead, is an excellent trail with plenty of views, summits, etc. of downtown LA, the Hollywood sign, etc.
The trail is moderate. Wide and well formed. Clay to dirt, some unevenness, steep at parts, with occasional rocks. Would be tough after rain.
This is a great trail in the LA area and my favorite of the Observatory trail system.

Africa side with a few viewing areas (glass). This consistently has been one of the best exhibits for viewing at the NC Zoo (for me anyway) in that one of the gorillas is usually against the glass. They don't seem bothered or concerned with people.
Signage detailing age, gender, etc of the gorillas in the exhibit. I find this a popular exhibit and the ability to see these creatures close makes this a very good stop.
