Honky Tonk Highway

It's amazing how much it feels like a party out here even at random times, like a Monday afternoon. Certainly not like any other music street I've visited. Some I've spoken to compare if to the Vegas strip, but for people who don't like gambling and love music, as you can cover a lot of ground and listen to a ton of live bands over a very short period of time and without getting physically exhausted.
The Tarrance Group

Fantastic source of actionable, reliable data.

I became very dubious of campaign research after the 2016 election, which lead me to realize how much political bias had been worked into poll results and other forms of election-related research. What sets aside the Tarrance group is its focus on JUST the data and its practical applications—for them, data is data, not part of a team sport, not part of a vanity project, and not part of a superfluous exercise deluging teams with information they don't need just to make them feel confident in confirmation-bias-driven decisions.

For teams who don't actually want to make evidence-based decisions, this is alienating. For those who want to make data-driven decisions a core part of their strategy, the Tarrance Group is perfect.
Seven Lakes Station

This was the best food we have had in months (superb craft beer selection, too). The burgers are incredible, as are the fries and buffalo cauliflower. Good ingredients and excellent spicing and preparation. The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant features comfortable outdoor seating that works splendidly during the pandemic. I would enthusiastically recommend Seven Lakes Station to friends.
Mombo Camp

Staying at Mombo Camp was the most luxurious experience of my life.

Obviously people come here to have a safari experience and go on game drives, and Mombo Camp was incredible for this. Compared to the other Wilderness Safaris camp we visited, Mombo Camp offered an incredibly high density of wildlife, and the wildlife there is amazing: We saw rhinos, hippos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, water buffalo, and so much more.

Our guide and every staff member with whom we interacted was wonderful. The team is warm, professional, accommodating, and incredibly well informed about the area and local wildlife.

The food was FANTASTIC. We came here after spending a week eating out at London's best restaurants and many of our meals here put them to shame. Their chef and the entire kitchen staff.

The rooms are beyond gorgeous: so much so that we felt tortured spending so little time in them as most of our waking hours were spent eating delicious food or going on game drives.

Some of our party chose to skip some game drives to stay at camp, where one does not even feel like one has to miss out, as the wildlife comes into and around camp all the time. In fact, at night and before the sun rises, all guests must ask a staff member to walk them to their rooms to ensure their safely, as it is not at all uncommon to run into a wild animal on one's way to bed or breakfast.

While they say there is no air conditioning in the camp (which was never a problem for us as we visited in the winter), this is not entirely true: there IS air conditioning in their gym, and their gym is a godsend, as sitting in a car for ten hours every day on game drives can make one quite restless!

In addition to a fantastic gym, Mombo Camp offers a spa and gift shop--but no internet, so connection junkies be warned.
Park Avenue Place

Exceedingly comfortable. The location is perfect for walks through Central Park and shopping on fifth avenue, plus great restaurants in the area abound.
