Overall: 3.50. Large selection of outdoor products (backpacks, canoes, skiing, etc.), winter clothing & shoes for men, women & children, pet products, etc. Neatly organized by product line. Plenty of holiday-themed items by register. Disappointed in clearance items with prices barely discounted (especially shoes). Staff at Sierra are friendly & helpful in answering questions. Homesense also located in same shopping center.
Rating: 4.50. George Washington Hospital Admission Center is very well-organized with ample staff to greet and assist visitors in answering questions. Signage is clear & visually directional. The facility is clean & arranged for high volume foot traffic. There’s a valet parking bay & parking garage. It’s also located directly steps away from the Foggy Bottom Metro on 23rd St. & I St. It’s also patrolled by WA Police Dept.
Overall: 2.00. Positives: CVS entrance easily accessible from Van Ness/UDC Metro exit on Connecticut Ave. Starbucks directly across the street by UDC. Pharmacy Tech very friendly & administered vaccination earlier than my scheduled appointment. Negatives: Decor run down & dingy. Trash littered throughout the store—especially by the pharmacy. Limited # of staffed & self-checkout registers. Basic products locked behind clear plastic shelves. Sad commentary to see so many products locked up.
Rating: 4.00. Bethesda Metro Red Line connects to 3 stations for transfer to other lines: Metro Center (Orange, Blue & Silver), Gallery Place China Town (Green & Yellow) & Fort Totten (Green & Yellow) via Fort Totten & Glenmont. Very long escalator from street level to sole metro entrance. Two elevators—one on Wisconsin Avenue & one by the Metrobys Line Bay). Note: While well-patrolled by entrance, it’s dimly lit after sundown & at night at exit. Regularly cleaned with newly installed gates to prevent rate jumping.
Overall Rating: 3.75. IAD’s renovated airport including terminals & train. After checkin, go through TSA pre-check & take train to/from gates & terminal/checkin/baggage claims. Plenty of food & retail options in terminals for national & international travel. Comfortable gate seating & boarding. Downside—Dulles access toll road from Beltway 495 a long ride—plan accordingly. Metro Silver line to/from IAD at a flat cost of $6 with connections to other lines but long rail commute.
