Restaurante Castro

We ate lunch here on our last day in Portugal, and it was decent. It was a small restaurant, which I like. It is bright white with fish art on the wall. It reminds me of a Greek restaurant. We ordered the mussels, cabbage soup, fried octopus and fried prawns. We had a local white wine Cedro Do Noval that was excellent. Everything was good, but not exceptional. We had a late lunch, and the restaurant was empty. There was no music or sound besides us so it was a bit awkward. There may be better options in Cascais.
Bar Mezzana

There is a reason Bar Mezzana is listed as one of the top restaurants in Boston. I came here for a work dinner and it was truly amazing. Each bite was better than the last. The restaurant is gorgeous. When you walk in the door you know it’s something special. The decor is beautiful and there is a buzz in the air. The service was excellent as well. We tried the Proshitto and Burrata, beef tartar, Brussels sprouts, pasta specials and lobster pasta. AMAZING! Everything I tasted was five stars. Love the wine list too. Put this one on your list when in Boston! You won’t regret it.
Sake Bar Hagi

I went to a work dinner here and it was good for being a midtown restaurant. It’s right across from the Gershwin Theater (currently playing Wicked). The menu is HUGE! Lots and lots to offer. We had edemame, spicy tuna roll, tempura platter, Yaki Udon and Ramen. Everything was good and the beer was cold. The staff was attentive and the everything was very clean. They even have a pac man machine in the area by the bathrooms! Definitely a fun spot worth a try!
We walked down from Park Guella and wandered into this awesome market. It was different than that tourist market on Las Rambles, but was awesome. If I lived here, I would visit it every day. Super fresh seafood, meat, fruit and veggies. Worth a visit!
Yes, I know this is a tourist trap, but I loved it! It is the largest outdoor market I’ve ever been to. So much stimuli and beautiful food. From the meat stands to the fruit stands, to the fish stands, to spice stands, to candy stands and bars for meals, it’s amazing to see. Definitely worth a trip!
