Smoothies are good & affordable, my veggie skillet was great. Lots of seating in & outdoors on the spacious patio. Even a few couches inside. Can be a bit jammed if there's a line but considering there's a fairly large menu the food/drinks come in a reasonable amount of time. Breakfast boozy drinks among your favorite coffee shop libations.
Fun little indie theater. It seems like they mostly do second run movie classics for $5. I Love the trippy entryway.. it's small but cool and I like the purple painted space. One thing to note though is that they charge an automatic 20% gratuity. Fortunately, not on the ticket prices. As someone who's worked in the service industry for a long time in many different types of tip-based jobs and also independent movie theaters, I feel that it's quite excessive for just handing someone a candy bar or taking one step to scoop a bucket of popcorn. The tipping system is based around workers that get paid less than minimum wage so I'm curious if they pay a living wage there to their employees. If so, tipping should not be mandatory. Not to mention that if it's mandatory it's not a tip, it's a tax
Nice size venue with fun art. Not cheap but not overpriced. Punk and metal friendly. Noticed a bunch of folks commented that they didn't like that the bar was not in the performance hall but I liked it. You could hear the bartender easier when the band is on and get a break for a second if you like. There isn't a door separating the rooms, just a cool artistic archway. There's plenty of seating in both rooms so not sure why that's an issue for people.
My only complaint is that they scan your id and keep your info in their database according to the door guy. He said that if they ever have a problem with someone they keep their info on file! Super creepy. I have gray hair so I don't usually get asked for Id but was happy to pull it out until that happened. Makes me think twice about visiting again . Also seems illegal to require that info and store it. What if they get hacked or have a disgruntled employee?!
