For a better shopping experience, don’t visit stores on the Main Street. You are verbally accosted and it’s uncomfortable to experience. You’ll need pesos. Go to the stalls behind the main one, in the second and third rows. There’s a Santander Atm at Circle K with a low withdrawal fee for foreigners. The other Santander ATMs across the market charged me 116 pesos to withdraw.
We found the cutest pom pom store. Pom pom strings were 220 and more elsewhere. We got a good price of 180 for 2. But after wanting to buy other things, we were denied a discount. It still felt expensive despite being cheaper than others, which are a total rip off. Some stalls sold more unique items but most of these things felt mass produced instead of artisanal. We shopped at about 20 stores and purchased from 3.
