Crown Shy
2023 Dec 28
The food at Crown Shy is simply phenomenal. We were a group of 7 and nearly ordered every item on the menu. All were fantastic but some were the stand outs: the scallop, the pasta (picture below), the chicken (picture below) I cannot emphasize chicken enough, and the bread (picture below). We were seated at the table next to the kitchen which was an experience on its own.
The Beer Garage
2022 Sep 05
I really enjoyed visiting the Beer Garage the other day with a friend. The staff is very friendly (Thanks Leila) and we had a great time. Good selection of beer though as a wheat beer fan I was a little disappointed but Leila's suggestions for alternatives were great. I also liked the oysters and calamari. Will definitely visit again.
Bridge No 28
2022 Jan 21
This is yet another "iconic" bridge in the Central Park. Also known as "Gothic Bridge" this one is north of reservoir and for nearly 120 years has been doing a fantastic job of letting people go from one side to the other side. You might think it would have got tired by now if all these walkers and runners who can't make up their mind but no! The good old Bridge No. 28 allows you to go across and below as often as you like! What's a gentle soul. Kudos!
Balcony Bridge
2022 Jan 20
Yet another great bridge in the Central Park which wonderfully gets you over a somewhat large body of water from one side to the other side. In this case, this spectacular service is provided both for pedestrians and cars which is novelty not enjoyed by all the bridges in the Central Park. Balcony bridge is very close to the more famous Oak Bridge at the entrance to Ramble by the Lake on one side and the Triplets bridge on the other side.
Peebler Point
2022 Jan 20
It's a nice roundabout right off the west drive when you walk towards the ladies pavilion. It's very easy to miss it as it does not stand out as a place with any significance at the begining but you can spot the small plaque the moment you step off the West Drive. It's dedicated to the Peebler family for their contribution in restoring and preservation of the Ladies Pavilion and Hernshead landscape.
