Starbucks
2023 Oct 03
Went here yesterday for breakfast with my girlfriend, where we both drank for free: one free drink because she had just registered on the Starbucks app and got her Starbucks card, and another one because it was her birthday. I got a tea raspberry frappe, and she got a coffee strawberry one. Both were delicious, sugary goodness.
Carpet Museum of Iran

We visited the Carpet Museum of Iran this past weekend. It's not very big, not very well maintained and there's very little info about each individual carpet, but most of them are stunning works if art. If you got an hour or so to spare in downtown Tehran it's worth the visit.
Persian Garden

Gorgeous urban garden, with a nice variety of flowers (especially tulips). Looks like a really nice place for a picnic, although since we visited during Ramadan there were obviously no one eating in public during the day.
Went to the Museum of the Moving Image earlier today, specifically to the Jim Henson exhibition. It wasn't a particularly big exhibition, but the stuff that was there was super interesting and in excellent condition. I became a Muppets/Henson fan an adult, when I was a kid I was never into them. Nevertheless, I got a little misty-eyed in front of Kermit (it was friggin' Kermit the Frog, right there in front of me! I would have bawled my eyes out had the Rainbow Connection been playing in the background).
Bento Sushi

Had the chashu pork ramen. The pork and broth where both excellent, the noodles were rather tasteless. Still, it was quite affordable for midtown Manhattan.
