Chequers Tavern
2024 Apr 21
A small pub just down the street from Fortnum & Mason that is full of character!

Came in for a quick drink with my partner and got a seat at the end of the bar. The prices were pretty good too, a round for two people coming in just over £12.

Service was quick too, the size of the pub probably helping as there aren't too many people to serve.

Lots of interesting decor to look at and a telly with sports playing too.
Burger Bar
2023 Dec 11
Came in for a meal after a day of travelling so wanted something quick and easy. Really good burgers, I had The Real Bite which was right up my street. Properly made in front of you while you wait.

Left completely full despite only having a burger and fries so it's more filling than I thought it would be.

Not a huge amount of seating available so you may need to get lucky with seating if you eat in, however service is quick so people come and go fairly quickly too.
Burger King
2023 Sep 09
Popped in for lunch as this was out the midway point on our trip up north. All the ordering machines were working and appeared clean, and service was very quick.

I ordered the triple whopper with fries and tango, my partner ordered the limited edition chimichanga fries and burger with a coke. The staff asked if we would like bacon on the chimichanga fries too, apparently this is an option but the machines don't tell you this!

The food was excellent, made even better by the fact we don't have a Burger King near us, and lots of seating to eat at.
The White Rock Inn
2023 May 30
Lovely country pub with a huge garden. Came here as it's the half way point on a ramble I was part of, so the perfect place for a crisp refreshing pint (or two).

Lots of space inside to sit, but as it was a lovely day we managed to get a seat outside.

There is also a pétanque court (similar to lawn bowls) but unfortunately we couldn't find the equipment to play a game while we had our drinks.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, which always brings that something special to country pubs.
Homeland War Museum
2023 May 20
If you decide to go up mount Srd, be sure to check out the Homeland War Museum. Particularly if you are into war history, or have local links to the area. It's incredibly informative. Some of the exhibits really hit home, being one of the most recent wars in Europe, and very much alive in many of the local peoples memories.

Fort Imperial itself is interesting without the recent history being a Napoleonic fortress. Possibly due to the bombardment during the war in the 90's the roof does leak, which adds to the feel of being in the place that has seen history unfold before it.

Before you go: the museum is cash only: €4 per person, and is not included in the Dubrovnik pass.
