Deanna Mapes

Fun and very life-like wax replicas of past and present stars that you can get up close and personal with in fun picture taking ops. A Marvel area has been added with a 4-D short Marvel computer generated movie you can watch in their theater.

Hollywood Blvd hot-spot for shopping, dining, seeing the nearby sites. In the same block as Madam Toussaud's and The Chinese Theater, this is a great place to spend a couple of hours going through shoppes and dining. Hollywood sign can be seen at a one of the mall's lookout spots. Fun looking for your favorite stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, too.

An eatery selected for us on an excursion to taste the flavors of Nassau. It was touted as being a 5-star place. The downstairs dining was packed, so our group of 20 was shown the upstairs patio for our dining accommodations. It was quite warm sitting outside, but the overhead fans made it more pleasant. We weren't offered a menu, but an already mapped out fare was plated for us and served hot. The ribs and BBQ chicken were good and the Mac 'n' cheese was tasty. All in all, it was good, but not sure 5-star quality.

Great breakfast! We hit this place twice it was so good the first time. Sat outside first time due to the air conditioning being out of service. They had a portable grill set up and the food did not lack flavor, nor did the service. They were super accommodating and helpful in giving us guidance on best way to get around Fort Lauderdale without a car. Second trip back, air still inoperable, but a portable A/C unit and fans allowed for a cool dining experience on the inside. Excellent spot for a great meal.
Tavern on the Tracks

Well, if you are looking for a place with great service and cold beer, might want to keep looking. First time here and highly disappointed. A nice short walk from the Blue Line light rail, the outside boasts of a bright colored "hole-in-the-wall" gem. With its small umbrella dotted patio which had all full tables, we were expecting a great experience. The interior was dark, which gave it that true tavern feel. Charging stations at the tables was an unexpected treat. The beers (draught)...depending on which one you ordered were not cold. Half of my party had cold, the other half was just a bit above room temperature. The food was typical "pub-type" fare and it was delicious. The bad part was how long it took to get a server (and there was only one who worked the whole place, inside and out, at lunch). Once our food came we immediately asked for the check because we weren't sure when we would see our server again. We ended up getting the bartender to close us out because our server never came back. All in all, a few perks in the visit, but with so many other places to eat along the lightrail line, it will be awhile before I return.
