If you want to access the King Zog ruins, USE THIS ENTRANCE!! The entrance is very hard to miss but it’s easy to walk to the ruins this way. Super nice, quite, would come again. If you miss this entrance it’s okay, keep going down until you make a right on Muttontown Rd. There are small entrances to the preserve from there.
Great place for escapism and relaxation. Only beach on Long Island (so far) that I love. Clear water, is rocky but manageable. There was beautiful graffiti on the walls but they keeping removing it. Always a pleasure coming here.
I have a love-hate relationship with this place. It’s extremely polluted—including the waters—trash everywhere, trails are unkept and there is a lack of appreciation for this preserve. But this place is also oddly charming; the graffiti is beautiful and the view of the trains passing by is astonishing. Besides the trash in the water, the milburn creek is pretty. It’s a nice place to go if you’re not coming at night, and if you’re with someone. Sketchy place but exciting.
