Silver Hill Hospital
2023 Oct 17
A gem amongst the multiple mental health care treatment programs out there. A beautiful campus, awesome residential counselors, and a spiritual advisor on staff (Cheryl) whose wisdom is second to none.

I am docking a star for this second go-around of mine, because I felt that the Argent program was largely lacking in the psychopharmacological assessment component, which was a major factor for me when I selected it. That being said, though, my overall experience at Silver Hill has been consistently worthwhile--not only because of the staff, also because of the amazing caliber of patients that this particular hospital has attracted to accompany me on my mental wellness journey.

And lastly, pretty dang good food for a hospital!
Hollow Nickel

Stumbled in here after the Q swept me into BKN directly after Canal St (go figure...I won't ask the MTA to explain their absurdities anymore 🙄)

Alas, I digress!

Hollow Nickel's got an awesomely rustic aura...almost like a Pirate Ship. Friggin' Sweet.

The bartenders behind the Helm, Mark and Sancho, were laid back and amicable dudes, who made me feel right at home and ensured my glass was full.

I didn't have the chance to try the food, because I was stuffed from a big, late lunch...so can't comment there. That being said, the Victory Pale Ale and Jame-o (or several, if I'm being truthful...) was all I needed to smooth out the 20 year ol' chip that lays atop my shoulder!

Oh ... and Karate Kid on the Tube; Tom Petty on the Sonos ... Yep, this place is a Nickel plated with pure , 30-Karat Gold!

Frenchette

The Gnocchi is out of this stratosphere...honestly, it has a gorgeous crunch and is truly delicious. Classic, crusty baguette, as well.

The servers were friendly and attentive, and I had the opportunity to bask in the Autumn Sun as I watched the shiny, happy people as they walked on by.

I highly recommend Frenchette for a nice li'l TriBeCa Lunch!
