A living history in downtown Nashville. For most part, the site is well-kept but some plaques need some attention, since the paint has faded. There were a few homeless during our visit but they minded their own business. Good to experience the quieter part of Nashville.

A very interesting museum! The story began with the denial of lease renewal to the founder, to running a nationwide business and how humble he was attributing his success to his employees. It goes without saying that stories of 'Karens of the era' are equally intriguing. It is also fun to appreciate the products of the time. I was there in summertime when the cafe was selling a honey ice-cream.

One of the best civil rights museums. The courage to tell the truth that "not everyone is created equal" under the US constitution deserves recognition. A governor can defy a court order, presenting himself above the law. This is exactly what the governor of Arkansas at the time did in an effort of resisting desegregation. He deployed national guards to surround the Central High School and denied entry to the 9 African-American students. The act of Eisenhower in using the US military to escort the students certainly did not put an end to segregation, but it was absolutely a very important milestone.
