Hot Chocolate Sparrow
2024 Sep 14
We were on vacation and one evening we were looking for some place different to try for dessert. This place came up, and in so glad we tried it!

I loved it here! From the bakery counter to the chocolate shop, there’s something yummy for everyone. Ice cream, cookies, cakes, fudge, and chocolate galore.

I had the chocolate lava cake, which they heated up, and it was maybe the best I’ve had in a very long time! It was delicious!

The hot chocolates are also very tasty!

I’ll be back on my next trip!
A fun and eclectic little gift shop with clothes, jewelry, accessories and more.

Always wanted to stop by on my annual cape cod trip, so my mom and I decided to finally pop in.

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

We got the sea witch hoodies, which are so cute and lightweight.
Imagine Gardens

Not the most exciting park, but it’s a nice spot for a community garden. It’s nice to see all the wildflowers being planted here as well.

The main attraction and reason for visiting is for the community garden, since most people will have to drive here, it’s not a traditional neighborhood park.
La Fontana

I highly recommend stopping by La Fontana if you’re staying at the hotel, or just in the neighborhood. I had two delicious dinners here during my stay and enjoyed my experience greatly.

All the staff were still wearing masks (April 2023), were very welcoming, and had decent English skills for those who aren’t fluent in Spanish.

For lunch and dinner, this is an Italian based restaurant with some other non-Italian options like some Mexican dishes and simple things like hamburgers.

I had the penne alla bolognese, and it was so good! I loved it! The sauce had a really good flavor to it and was very meaty. Food came out quickly and nice and hot.

For breakfast, this is the main buffet for the hotel, and it’s great. Lots of options from local Mexican dishes to foods for international visitors like pancakes, cereal, and pastries.

Overall, I really liked this place and will be back next time I’m in town for work. Great for solo travelers/dining.
Chapultepec Castle

A beautiful castle in the heart of Mexico City. Be prepared to walk a lot! Buy your ticket at the building at the very bottom of the hill (before security). Tickets currently cost 90 pesos a person, which is a great deal.

The walk up the hill to the castle is quite the trek and not for the out of shape. Once you get to the top, there’s a number of spots where you can check out the views of the city and parks below.

Beautiful rooms to peek into, and some signs are also in English which was great.

There are some elevators in the castle so people who can’t do the stairs can see the second floor.

Worth a visit! Expect to spend around a hour here. Great spot for solo travelers!
