Food, service, and atmosphere was top-notch, possibly the best restaurant experience I've ever had. My family had a reservation on a Saturday evening for three on the patio overlooking the canal. From beginning to end, the evening was perfect. We enjoyed a pitcher of sangria. Each of us ordered the Best of the Chef, which concludes with paella. I forgot about the paella when we received each course. When we finished the sixth course, I thought to myself that that sure wasn't a lot of food for the price (even if all six courses were exquisite, packed full with various flavors). As soon as I thought that, the paella was delivered to the table and I knew I would leave with a very full belly. Braulio brought a dish the size of a cast iron skillet full of paella, with fresh lemon wedges and we dug in. Between the three of us, we ate half of the pan. We were a little bummed that we couldn't eat it all, but Braulio assured us that it's even better the next day because the spices have more time to soak into the food.
Braulio served us impeccably well. He made the dinner a breeze and guided us along the way, making recommendations and suggestions when needed. He was simply pleasant in every interaction and had a warm personality, making guests feel they were being welcomed to someone's home.
We sat on the patio, so couldn't hear the live music from inside very well. However, as we visited at the beginning of December 2023, there was live Christmas music across the way in Old Town Scottsdale. That topped off the evening's experience.

Funny to find a tiki car in a desert town, but there's apparently quite the market for it! We walked across The Drunk Munk after dinner on Saturday and the place was packed. We came back the next day to shop and ended up stopping in for sushi and drinks on the patio, it was a perfect afternoon. I enjoyed a pina colada before sushi roll. The patio is a great spot to people watch in the shopping and dining center.
Our server was training a new-hire and seemed very rushed through the duration of our lunch. There was something odd going on with the bar I think, because our server needed to know our drink order quickly so she could get them in at the bar. Other than a sense of urgency when ordering both drinks and food, everything was great. Flavors were exactly what I was looking for- a refreshing cocktail followed by delicious sushi. It's impressive to have good sushi in the dessert, there's no water nearby!

Hole in the Rock is THE place in town to view the sunset over the mountains. I heard about this location on a podcast about what to see and do in Phoenix. We arrived maybe 30 minutes before sunset and we were lucky to find a parking spot. Parking is free and there are restrooms right outside the lot.
I didn't even realize this was a hiking destination, as it's more of a brief walk and trek up to the hole itself. The hole is at the top of a sandstone rock formation that's been affected by erosion. If you want an elevated view, wear shoes with good grip.
As it's in town, there's a lot of city views. We saw maybe six plans flying in or out during sunset and all the traffic down below. The colors were gorgeous.

Incredible flavor in every item we tried. I think I ordered the Kao Soi, with a spice level of 2. The coconut milk, lime juice, and curry was cooked at a perfect balance with one another. The spice was at the very top of my comfort level- I have found that a level 3 at other Thai restaurants are the top of my comfort level. My date ordered pad thai with a spice level of 4 and he was sweating from how spicy it was through the end of dinner. He was unable to finish due to how intense the spice was, but enjoyed the leftovers later. That being said, I think that the restaurant leans heavy on the spice scale, so be mindful when ordering. We also ordered fried rice to go in the soup, but it wasn't needed.
We enjoyed patio seating during a sprinkle on a Friday evening and watched many come and go with their to-go orders. Service was quick and friendly, providing great suggestions all throughout. Our server even brought my date a complimentary Thai tea when she saw how he reacted to the spice. Very pleased with our visit!

I've been to Nudo House on Delmar twice now and left so satisfied both times. I ordered the Classic Nudo Ramen and shared it with friends, I should've ordered my own bowl. Delicious food, right in the city, and affordable prices- couldn't ask for anything more. That black garlic flavor sends me to another dimension.
I ordered takeout on my way out for my husband at home and they gave me entirely the wrong thing. I ordered tankatsu ramen with a side of karage for him and they gave me pho. He was really looking forward to ramen, but it's hard to be disappointed when it's as tasty as it was.
