My experience here was different than most people's, but I must say it was a nice small and private location. You have to go out a ways to get into deeper water but it's is very nice nonetheless. The trees provide decent shelter from wind on the beach. All in all it was the perfect place to perform my ritual.

The trail itself is decent and was the first time I had been on George Island. I would highly recommend bug spray however as we made the rookie mistake of forgetting to bring any and got eaten alive. The view from the far side of the island is incredible and the path takes you over a series of different terrains from woodlands wetland, rocky outcrops and shoreline. Somehow I forgot to take any photos of the farside of the island.

This is my first time visiting since I was a kid in the 90's. The experience was totally worthwhile, had the dynamic duo pass that included Dynamic Earth the previous day, an Imax movie and the planetarium. I had a blast and can't wait to return with my son on future ventures!
