First meal in Venice! I had read a lot of good reviews so I decided we should give it a try!
We shared starters of octopus and soft shell crab. Both were excellent, in particular the soft shell crab dish!
For mains, I had the spider crab tagliolini whereas my hubby had the calf's liver with polenta. He really enjoyed his - portion was generous and even though I am not usually a fan of liver, I have to admit it was quite tasty. However, I was slightly disappointed with the pasta as it was a bit on the bland side and slightly soggy, in my opinion. I think it was mainly because I had very high expectations for it!
Finally we had dessert of gianduia (tasted like an extra chocolatey Nutella) ice cream and the dessert of the day - a custard tart with strawberries and vanilla cream. Both were a hit with us - tasty in their own way. The gianduia was very decadent!
Service was decent considering how busy the restaurant was. Staff were attentive and friendly. Prices are on the high side (about 80 euros each, excluding drinks) but it is meant to be a more upmarket place.
All in all, a good start to our long weekend in Venice! Time to walkabout and attempt to burn some of this off!

We were here for Saturday lunch and we were off to the worst possible start when we found that both of our curry puffs were still half frozen. The waitress did replace them but my new one was still a bit cold - though less so than before.
I then had the "nasi lemak special" as my main. The best parts were the fried chicken and sambal. Fried chicken marinade was lovely! Wished they were a bit more generous with the sambal though!
My husband then had the 'mee goreng mamak" as his main. It was ok I guess... Tasty enough but certainly not the best we have had in the UK. They were generous with the ingredients with decent amount of prawns and chicken slices. Could do with some (more) spice though!
We also had sambal aubergine on the side. It was reasonably tasty but a bit too oily for our liking!
All in all, a bit disappointing 🙁. Which is a bit sad as we were here pre COVID for their buffet and it was a great experience.

Customer service somewhat lacking!
We popped by here late one Saturday morning with the intention of buying some new shoes but we left 10 minutes later as the staff did not appear to want to make any sales. Despite browsing and hanging about for a while, not one of the sales staff came up to us or offered any assistance which was very disappointing. We were not the only customers who felt this way as another couple also came and went at the same time... Bit of a shame but I did manage to make my purchase at another shop so the mission was accomplished anyway!
