I booked a tour of the Catherdral through DomForum. I happened to be in the Cathedral when I saw the tour advertised. I did it there and then on their site 30 mins before. I would recommend booking in advance on busy periods though. It cost €11 in all. We met at the Forum opposite the Cathedral where we were given head phones so we could hear the guide more easily. We got to skip the queue, which on a busy day would be worth the money alone.
She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We got to find out about the history and the process of creating the Dom and to feel a sample of the brick used to build it, as well as going into an area reserved for tours only. I learnt so much and I am very glad I did the tour. Thank you.
