Terrible clinic.Dr Zando has no empathy. My husband was referred to Dr Zando by Dr. Imman for a suspicious lesion on his head.During his initial visit Dr.Zando performed a biopsy and told him it was most likely skin cancer. She told him the biopsy results would take two weeks. The day before we were scheduled to go back for results her office called to reschedule that appointment, which meant delaying results by another two weeks. We insisted we wanted the results since she had them. She agreed to see us as scheduled. During that appointment Dr Zando told us “I’m so happy when I’m right”. Not once, but twice. We were appalled by her comment. It was callous, and unprofessional. She has little empathy for the patient who was just delivered a cancer diagnosis. She failed to explain the diagnosis, treatment or prognosis.A doctor’s attitude can affect a patient’s emotional disposition, and heighten their anxiety. We told Dr Imman we were not happy with Dr Zando. We left with more questions than answers.
We heard about Mohs surgery to treat his type of cancer. We found a clinic that specializes in that type of surgery and asked Dr. Imman for a referral. My husband was booked for surgery within one week of the referral. We were very pleased with the entire process at the Mohs clinic. They were a professional, knowledgeable and caring team of doctors and nurses who addressed all our needs and concerns. The entire process took less than Dr Zando’s timeline. She also said he would need a skin graft. Which he did not need afterall. We were disappointed that she did not prioritize the urgency of his situation. It is an agressive cancer that can spread if left untreated. Each case is different and should be examined carefully. Do your HOMEWORK, advocate for the best options available. A good doctor takes the time to address the patients concerns and helps ease stress, they see the patient as a whole person, not just an illness. We did not return to CV Health Center. We found a new dermatologist and family doctor.
