Definitely one of the best museums in the country and I'm not even a train spotter. Free entry but understandably you are asked to make a contribution on entry. Excellent catering and a quality gift shop on site. The exhibits are amazing and impressive. The museum is currently being developed and all going to plan, by the end of 2026 will be even better. For me that will definitely mean a return visit to York.
Excellent Central London museum, fascinating history but I will have to return as I hadn't left myself enough time to do it justice. Most of the exhibits are displayed behind glass but the lighting is some of the best I have seen and as a result you can take photos without any glare or reflection spoiling the pictures. Very impressed.
Very enjoyable lunch sat outside in the sunshine watching the game taking place on the bowling green. Service was excellent and staff were brilliant. I recommend the Luxury Brockwurst hotdog with bacon, cheese sauce and fried onions. Really enjoyed it.
Convenient local parade of shops and takeaways with free parking.
Parking spaces far too small. Park at your own risk, you'll more than likely return to your car to find the bodywork damaged because someone has hit your car with their door when they park and get out of the car. Funny enough, you can be sat in your car when it happens and the person who does it, doesn't even acknowledge or apologise!
