Oyster Allsorts

Loved the quirky displays, and Kiwiana. A great place to unwind and have a bite to eat. Make sure to look at the museum displays and the second hand wares next door for sale. Coffee was great, and the owner was accommodating in providing a toasted sandwich as well.
I have rarely had the opportunity to go inside the hall but I appreciate it's value as a community facility and event venue. I think it is also important to retain and value contributions by members of the local area, which the hall accomplishes through memorial boards and plaques. The interior has some lovely old features.
This is just my personal taste. I know lots of people love this place. For a visitor it is possibly less lovable. We couldn't find parking and had to park on the street which was difficult with a mobility problem to walk far. Units and parking seemed very crammed in to a small area. Getting around would require a map until you are used to it. Decor and styling appeared a bit dated and cluttered but no doubt very suitable and comfortable for residents.
Nerang Cemetery

A small cemetery with a few hundred graves, some dating from the late 1800's. There is no shelter here, but there is some shade to be had from the trees surrounding the 1 hectare site. There is an ashes columbarium near the entrance. Limited off-street parking which appears to be used more by local residents of houses across the street. It is in a quiet location. There is tap water available, but no public facilities.
Statue of George V
2019 Apr 29
There's not a lot you can say when reviewing a statue. However, in location it is south of The Lady Chapel, Westminster Abbey and opposite the House of Lords. It commemorates the life of George V but wasn't put on the site until after World War II. it is on a plinth, so is quite impressive. It is a tidy and well kept area, full of tourists a lot of the time.
