I visited the Ohio Environmental Council office at 1145 Chesapeake Ave., Ste. I [in the "Fifth by Northwest" neighborhood of Columbus] for my first time on 8-30-2023.

I have been "a friend of" the Ohio Environmental Council for many years because I regularly include their events in a "community calendar" that I edit for a local newspaper. Most of their recent events have been "on-line" or at other "in-person" locations; their 8-30-2023 event had been in their office.

Because of their "Chesapeake Ave." address; I had previously assumed that they are two or three buildings east of the "Chambers Rd. Kroger" [at 1375 Chambers Rd.] but I now know that they are actually several blocks away from that Kroger [on the other side of Northwest Blvd.].

On 8-30-2023, a small group of us gathered at the Ohio Environmental Council office to view "Gen Z Mental Health: Climate Stories," "a thought-provoking short film that explores the climate change emotions experienced by young people today." We then discussed that film with some of the young people who had appeared in that film and then we discussed that film within our small group.

The Ohio Environmental Council office is a five-minute walk from the COTA bus line that serves my home which had made it quite simple for me to travel there and back.
Most people would never imagine that a parking garage would have a conference room.

The City of Columbus Parking Garage at 141 N. Front St. in downtown Columbus has a conference room near the southeast corner of the first floor.

The Columbus Advisory Committee on Disability Issues [CACDI] has met over the years in several different locations all over Columbus; our 8-24-2023 meeting had been held in that conference room.

CACDI has met several times during the recent past at the Michael B. Coleman Government Center [across the street at 111 N. Front St.]; most of us are already familiar with that neighborhood so we had been able to easily find our slightly-different meeting location.

That conference room is not exactly a public space; however, if you are attending a committee meeting that has been scheduled by the City of Columbus, you may be meeting in that conference room.
Riffe Gallery

I visit the Riffe Gallery periodically when I am downtown.

The art on display is always high-quality; the exhibition space is a pleasant and restful alternative to the hustle-bustle environment of downtown Columbus.

I finally learned, after having stopped at the guard desk each time before visiting the Riffe Gallery, that it is not actually necessary to stop at the guard desk first as long as your only destination within that building is the Riffe Gallery.
A high school friend [who I have not seen in at least 45 years] recently invited me to attend the 5-5-2019 reception for "Enduring Earth: For Love of the Planet," the May 2019 exhibition at Studios on High Gallery, because two of her works would be in that exhibition.

My high school friend had already left the reception by the time that I had arrived so I briefly looked at her two works and then quickly left because another friend had been waiting outside to drive me home.

I had been in the Short North yesterday [6-12-2019] for a different reason and decided to return to Studios on High Gallery for a second visit.

After entering what I had presumed to be Studios on High Gallery and mentioning my high school friend's two works in the May 2019 exhibition, I learned that I had actually been at Sherrie Gallerie, two doors north of Studios on High Gallery.

The woman at Sherrie Gallerie told me that the two spaces are very similar.
State Library of Ohio

The State Library of Ohio serves as a depository for federal and state documents; this library also has a circulating collection that is similar to that of most libraries.

This massive collection is located in a large building that formerly had been a part of the former Jeffery Manufacturing Company [where my father used to work].

The Columbus Site of the Kent State University School of Library and Information Science is also located there.

The Ohioana Library [that includes more than 45,000 books, 10,000 pieces of sheet music, and approximately 20,000 biographical files on Ohio writers, musicians, and artists] is also located there.

The Columbus Advisory Committee on Disability Issues [CACDI] usually holds its monthly meetings at the State Library of Ohio though that committee occasionally meets elsewhere.
