After 4 previous spinal fusion surgeries, I chose home recovery and out patient physical therapy. This time (#5 and #6, a more complicated spinal surgery) I went from Washington Hospital Center directly to National Rehabilitation Hospital to jump start my recovery. The medical care and intensive occupational and physical therapy were 5 STAR. I stayed for 10 days and went home with a “return to independent living” attitude and a master list of home exercises to do daily. NRH inpatient care is well worth the time and cost!
