Bird Thais Restaurant
Goodmorning!
Here is my review about Bird Thai Restaurant.
The line in front of the spot is really long so that means something special. They only do walk-ins. Since the line looks like it would take ages to get inside, it only took 10-15min to get inside.
While we were inside they gave us a wonderful spot in the center.
Food:
We have ordered a Tom Kha Kai soup, a Thai green curry with meat, seafood and the last one was the fried dorade with spicy mango salad. Especially the tom kha kai and the fish were wonderful.
The green curry was pretty nice when served hot, but when it is starting to cool down then the MSG is coming up to the front. Which is a taste, but I didn’t liked the amount.
Service:
The service was alright! Lots of waiters walking through eachother but they’re always standing there when you need them. Some small mistakes like a Coca-Cola zero instead of regular and some lemon missing. But alright, the bottle was blue and it has been a while since I’ve seeing that!
The last thing for me was the rice. We had a really small bowl of rice with the curry. It is literally enough for 1 person and eventhough we are both compact builded but still.. it is not so much.
So we asked if there was missing a rice then it came. But it was €3 that we saw later on the receipt. I think that can be better but perhaps it is their way of serving. Informing us would be better!
Atmosphere:
It is a nice cosy restaurant and always fully packed! The toilets are not that clean but it is crowed so I think there is no time to clean it.
The doors to explain if it’s a male or female toilet is quite stunning!
It is a nice place to eat.
Conclusion:
The interior is making your comfortable eating here, the staff is hardworking, the service is precarious and the price can be high.
So if we look at price-quality then it could be better, but since it is tourist orientated I think it might be a concept.

Hoi Tin
Eat where the Chinese eat, I remember there was a motto written on the windows.
Actually I haven’t eaten her before yet, but my girlfriend does so a first time for me to try.
Food:
We ordered siu mai, har gow, feng zhao, xiao long bao and lai wong bao with a pig face.
The taste was good I liked it.
Service:
The eating house is quite small so you really need to make a reservation. The food comes quick like most of the Chinese dimsum restaurants. The waiter was friendly and kind.
Atmosphere:
Prepare to have a lousy lunch since everyone is sitting close to eachother. The seats and tables are common. But very pleasant.

Kaa Lun Palace
A childhood place for me, it was my mom’s birthday so we went to doing the thing she loves the most -> Shopping.
When you are shopping you’ll get hungry, so we went to her favorite Chinese Dimsum place Kaa Lun Palace. Most of the time when I am in The Hague I don’t usually visit this spot, but it is her day so we went for it.
Food:
Kaa Lun Palace serves Dimsum and Chinese (seafood) specialties. We have ordered shrimp rice noodles (Ha Cheung Fun) white chicken feets (Feng Zhao) stuffed beancurd skin, shumai and custard bao (Lai Wong Bao) I think they haven’t changed the food at all..which is pretty good! The food still tasted the same as 13 years ago.
Service:
Well.. service.. I think the waiter liked his phone more than the his guests. Perhaps it was in the afternoon but I mean.. hello.. attention? Okay it is a Chinese restaurant so the standards might be different. They serve Coca-Cola in cans instead of bottles, I guess they have to compensate the money from drinks more than other restaurants. But it was expensive €3 for a can.
Atmosphere&Conclusion:
Our table and another one were the only tables so it was pretty sad for that day. I remember this place was so unbelievably crowed. They have not so much attention for you so I guess the tip won’t be a lot today from me. And they probably don’t care.
Ohwell my mom finally had her lunch so making her happy would make me happy aswell. But for the recommendations, I think there are other places near this place to visit, it is up to you.

Service:
