WOW! Located on the unspoiled island of Sumba, our time at NIHI was extraordinary. From our arrival at the airport to our departure and every moment in between, we were extremely well cared for and felt like family. Everywhere we looked at NIHI was a beautiful sight to behold, though what really sets NIHI apart are the incredible people!
Our Guest Kapten, Chris, went above & beyond throughout our stay! We enjoyed our time with him and all of the thoughtful details he helped coordinate. He was always available to assist with a smile!
The restaurant & bar staff - Dorkas, Mery, Irul, Steven to name just a few - are wonderful!
All moments are magical at NIHI, but a few stand outs:
Rice Island Trek - a beautiful 2 1/2 hour trek around the island. Duss is a great guide!
Kaboku - an authentic Japanese restaurant. We enjoyed watching Chef prepare each dish; the fish is very fresh!
Spa Safari Nihioka - the most incredible, indescribable spa experience! A must!
The Sumba Foundation dinner - we are grateful to learn more about the important work that the Foundation is doing for the Sumbanese.

We enjoyed an outstanding omakase experience Api Jiwa - not to be missed in Ubud! Chef Nicola Russo and his team prepared each dish with great care. The evening was well-paced and we enjoyed Chef explaining each dish. As beautiful as every dish was presented, it tasted even better! Service was superb! It was an unforgettable - and delicious - evening!
