Proud Embankment
2024 Jan 28
I’ve known about Proud for a long time and I haven’t been before due to the price. My fiancé and I chose to come for our end of year date night as a treat and we left feeling really disappointed.

Firstly, the booths we were shown to were tiny with very little leg room or table space - we spent the evening moving items from our table due to the lack of space and generally feeling quite uncomfortable. I didn’t see the space restriction highlighted anywhere when booking (and apologies if this was missed), but we would have certainly upgraded had we known about this. This wasn’t a great start and certainly didn't make us feel very special!

I don’t believe the food and service on the night reflected the price of the tickets or the 15% service charge we paid. We had multiple staff members repetitively ask us what package we were on, how many courses we were having and if we wanted a drink when we’d already ordered one - the staff seemed like they hadn’t been trained and hadn’t been informed about the event.

I wasn’t able to find the menu on the booking confirmation or online before attending the event, so I didn’t know what we were going to be eating. We also weren’t told what each course was, when it was quickly thrown onto the table in front of us. There was no organisation to the food service and tables around us were getting food whilst we sat waiting. For our meal, there was at least an hour in between starters and mains being served and as the ham starter was very small, we were then starving by the time mains finally arrived. The Christmas dinner main course was dry and cold and really disappointing after waiting that long. The dessert was the nicest part of the meal, but it was served late and right at the end of the show, so it felt like we were rushing it. Further to this, after opening your doors at 6:30pm, we and the table next to us were told that you’d run out of all beer and lager by 7:30pm with a full night still ahead.

Finally, I feel that the marketing for the show itself was misleading. It was promoted as an 'All Stars' show, but there were more 'filler' acts than big performances. The quality of the show wasn't necessarily the issue, it just wasn't what we expected from an 'All Stars' show.

After paying £380 for our tickets, our total bill on the night came to £550 - a very expensive night out for anyone! We reached out to your team privately out of respect, but as I’ve still not heard back from you, I am happy to leave the review here as well.
