It has not been installed yet but the turf has been cut. A memorial to civilian seafarers who sacrificed so much for our survival.
Not my words but copied straight from Chris Robinson's Plymouth.
Viking Stone Commemorating the 1,000th anniversary of the last Viking raid up the Tamar, this stone was presented to the City by representatives of five Scandinavian countries to demonstrate the friendship and good faith that now exist between England and Scandinavia. The Rhune –stone itself was made by Danish sculptor Magnuss Krugh Anderssen and was unveiled in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Plymouth and Magnuss Magnusson who delivered a speech on the story of the Vikings in Britain.

I have only ever had coffee at The Stables Cafe so can't say anything about the food. The coffee is good. The cappuccino is better than the flat white. On my last visit I was alone, it was just after 2pm on a lovely sunny day so had possibly been a busy lunch service. No customers were at the counter two staff members were maning the station. I approached but neither acknowledged me. I felt as if they didn't want to make eye contact in case I stopped them going about their duties. I was stood there for a minute or so. A simple "l will be with you in a moment" would have removed all the awkwardness from the situation. Once they had completed their task they couldn't have been more pleasant and the service from there was great, very friendly.
