Carrousel du Louvre is situated under the Louvre so to speak. the building is impressive with an upside-down pyramid in the Middle near the entrance of the Louvre museum. the shops in this underground shopping center are highly sophisticated with popular brands that sell for all kinds of prizes. Twice a year they organize a big Art S. hopping event. Galleries, as well as artists, come and present their artworks. For artists interested in participating in the next ART SHOPPING will be in the spring of 2020. this year's event was quite international with artists from Japan and Inuit sculptors. It's a very well visited and very popular outing for the people from Paris as well as all kinds of foreigners. The food court area in the Carrousel offers a variety of foods, there is even an Mc Donalds. for those who like that. I prefer a Japanese restaurant in the area outside the Carrousel. all year round the shopping center is a nice place to visit.

This is the beautiful building that was rebuilt after the Commune fire in 1870. It's close to the original but maybe a bit more grand. Important city functions happen here, and a portion is devoted to gallery space where there are terrific free expos.
