An absolute disgrace to charge $3000/night for a 1 bed “villa” and lock others out of a surf spot.
I will not visit SUMBA island and would encourage others to avoid as well.

Sumba is a large island with many people living poorly. Privatisation of a public asset has stopped countless tourists visiting the island and contributing to the economy hence enhancing the quality of life for many.
I hope the sumba people wake up and realise they are only hurting them selves and enhancing the wealth of the resort owners.
