I just tried to call about some trouble with a purchase I'm making, and the person on the phone interrupted me just about every time I spoke, repeating herself over and over again, as if I hadn't just acknowledged, repeated, and explained my understanding of what she said, which she would then confirm I understood correctly, and interrupt me with the human equivalent of a copy/pasted response to any and all questions I had for clarification.

Get this, it doesn't just stop there, this person actually tried to lie to me! This person put me on hold, saying they would call the company I was purchasing from, and get back to me after. She told me that she called them and they told her what she was already telling me, but then said I needed to call and tell the company that I wanted to make the purchase myself.

There are two problems with the aforementioned point.

Firstly, the company isn't some small local business, and the company doesn't have a phone number you can call! I would know, I tried to look into it, and couldn't find any official or unofficial sources citing or providing a number for this big international company.

Secondly, she told me I would need to call the company myself to let them know that I wanted to go through with this purchase, which makes no sense because if she had spoken to anyone, she would have made them aware of that, which she didn't, because she couldn't. Not only that, but she tried to use the 'phone call' as an excuse to reinforce that the situation is as she described.

What kind of person goes out of their way to try to pretend to do something like that, just so they can come up with a lie that's so unbelievable, just to manipulate a customer?

This place is ridiculous. Would you trust someone that would lie to your face with your finances? I wouldn't.

I hope management looks into this, you can't have people employed at an institution that handles peoples' finances lying to them, that reflects poorly on everyone involved, and on your brand, and this employee clearly didn't care about the image of everyone around her that she'd impact.
