A great little piece of nature tucked away in the suburbs! *Note, the park is locally called "Hidden Pond Park"- I recommend searching for the Hidden Pond Nature Center when going so you can park right there, as searching "Pohick Creek Stream Valley Park" will take you to residential areas with trail access, so you'd have to park by people's houses.
Trails are mostly dirt except around the nature center, predominantly shaded, and pretty easy to follow colored markings on trees (though there was one spot around where Green/Blue meet that tripped me up). My only real concern is that the part of the Green trail that follows the river is severely overgrown, including a LOT of thorny vegetation at both dog and human face height. Otherwise, lots of interconnected loops so you can make your trip as long or short as you need, with few blind corners to worry about running into bicyclists, and several spots to hang out by the water!
